Apéritif Friday - Yummie Nation

Confession time - I've been MIA all summer. Not because I've abandoned all things yum in food and drinkland, or because I don't have any silly tales to tell. Quite the contrary, and I promise to bring you some nuggets soon. In all honesty, I took a mini hiatus to hunker down and focus on the book. At last, I'm accomplishing much on the behemoth that consumes a corner of my mind night and day. And sometimes invades my entire psyche, when I talk in tongues. Er, in the characters' voices, I mean.

My poor kids and husband. And pooch. Miller's not happy with me.

As much as I love blogging, I can't deny that it pulls me away from my number one work-related priority. Finding balance in life can be tough, and trying to find that balance to focus on a task more difficult than carrying a child to full term and surviving the toddler years can sometimes be downright impossible. Thus, the absence since June from this happy little space.

Until today. I'm elated to announce the start of something exciting and I hope you'll all join me for the ride. A little over a year ago I met Beth, a most fascinating woman, through an admirable friend and fellow girls weekender, Teri. Recently Beth shouted out to join her on a new venture, and it was a no-brainer for me.

Since the sap's flowing freely today, a big Thank You to my family, friends and readers for the ongoing support in this writing adventure. Your comments are the second most important factor to keep me at it, inspired to know that I'm hitting a chord by stringing words together to tell a story, sharing recipes and brightening a day.

The most important thanks though goes to Mr. Musky. Without his encouragement, I would have ditched this long ago. Thanks for continuing to believe in me like no other and for kicking me in the butt when I need it, Babe. Good things are coming.
